앵커 체인의 피치 길이는 항해에 사용되는 속도 단위 피치와 다릅니다. 실제로 영어 단위인 fathoms에서 파생되었습니다. 한패덤의 길이는 약 1.8288미터이다. 대영제국은 항해에 강했기 때문에 나중에 국제 표준이 되었습니다. 이후 앵커 체인의 길이는 27.5m로 통일적으로 규정됐다. 실제 사용 시 앵커 체인의 각 부분은 샤클(shackle)로 구성되며, 각 부분은 분리 가능한 링크로 연결됩니다. 일반적으로 체인 링크는 흰색으로 스프레이되어 승무원이 앵커 체인이 몇 개나 발사되었는지 알 수 있습니다.
체인의 마지막 부분은 일반적으로 승무원에게 체인 끝에 도달했음을 경고하기 위해 빨간색으로 스프레이됩니다. 일반적으로 앵커 체인은 체인 릴에 고정됩니다. 선박이 풀려나기 전에 감속이 완료되지 않으면 앵커 체인이 파손되어 선박 밖으로 날아갈 가능성이 높습니다. 이를 방지하기 위해 앵커 체인의 마지막 한 부분은 일반적으로 신호등 사용과 유사하게 노란색으로 스프레이됩니다.

Generally speaking, the outfitting number of warships is higher than that of ordinary freighters, but it is not suitable to lengthen the anchor chain after reaching 13 knots. Because it will prolong the anchor receiving time, the anchor chain needs to be thickened, or even more than one anchor chain to ensure stability.
